Help, instructions, caveats, etc.
- Use the links to the left, especially the Help link.
- This site initially has no password. So, do not link to this URL from any page which might expose the URL to search engines. (A bookmark in your browser is okay.) If you prefer to have a password, please submit a ticket with that request.
- It is your responsibility to maintain your subscriber database. Unsubscribe requests should be handled quickly.
- Bounces from bad addresses will be returned to you (the listowner). You may remove the address from your list to prevent future bounces.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do people get subscribed to my list?
- The default configuration for discussion lists is "private". This means that you alone add or remove subscribers. Use the link to "Add/Remove Member Addresses".
How do people post messages to my list?
- They send their message to epicommstr@epicom.org. The sender address must be a subscriber or the message will be ignored.
If someone replies to a post, who will see the reply?
- A simple reply will go just to the original author and not to the entire list. (This behavior can be changed so that replies go to the entire list.) And recipients can always change the To: address so that their reply goes to the entire list.
How do people unsubscribe/remove themselves from the list?
- They send any email to leave-epicommstr@lists.epicom.org from the exact address they wish to remove. Or they may simply ask to be removed, in which case you should respond promptly.
Bounces
By default, bounces are directed back to the list owner, who can take the appropriate action (change or delete the address, ignore the bounce, etc.) Upon request we can enable automatic removal for bouncing addresses.
